Oriental Precision & Engineering delivers Hull Block and Deck House to Bharati Shipyard
January 21, 2011. Oriental Precision & Engineering (“OPCO”) has delivered two hull blocks and four deck houses to Bharati Shipyard. The delivery for the order from March last year was made at OPCO’s Gwang-yang Facility.
OPCO has completed the project in seven months after the first steel beam was cut on June 15, 2010; and these hulls and the deck houses are to be installed onto the fuel and material supply vessel which is scheduled to serve an offshore platform and rigs.
The delivery was symbolic and conveyed much meaning to OPCO because the structures left the Gwang-yang facility for India on the Dongbang Giant 3, the heavy cargo carrier which was built by OPCO last October.
Last December, OPCO had successfully completed the construction of the anchor-handling tug supply vessel for Bharati Shipyard; and with this month’s delivery, OPCO is sure to develop a definite position in India as a quality shipbuilder.
