OPCO signs a 17 million-dollar floating dock deal
Oriental Precision & Engineering (“OPCO”) has won a contract to build a 15,000-TLC Caisson floating dock from Dongbu Corp.
OPCO is to deliver the dock by October 31 this year, and this 17 million-dollar deal would have accounted for 4.2 percent of OPCO’s 2009 total sales.
The floating dock is 72 meters long, 52 meters wide, and 26 meters high; with 15,000 TLC (Ton Lifting Capacity). The caissons are prefabricated concrete box-like elements with cylinder that are used in the method that allows a fast paced construction of floating docks, bridges, and seawalls.
OPCO’s expertise and the long experience of building many different special-purpose marine vessels, including accommodation/work barges, heavy cargo carriers, and other various supply vessels, should be credited for winning the deal; and OPCO spokesperson stated that the company would continue to implement aggressive sales efforts to meet the 2011 goal. |
