OPCO acquires the ASME U and S Stamp certifications
January 28 2011: Oriental Precision & Engineering (“OPCO”) has received the U and S Stamp certifications from American Society of Mechanical Engineering, or ASME for short.
The ASME is a professional body, specifically an engineering society, focused on mechanical engineering. The organization is known for setting codes and standards for mechanical devices. It is one of the oldest standards-developing organizations in the world, producing approximately 600 codes and standards, covering many technical areas, such as boiler components, elevators, measurement of fluid flow in closed conduits, cranes, hand tools, fasteners, and machine tools.
On the January audit, OPCO has received the U Stamp certification which covers the pressure vessels which has many shipbuilding applications; and the S Stamp for manufacturing the power boilers. Currently these two products aren’t included in OPCO’s list of products, but with these certifications it has been made possible for OPCO to get into the pressure vessel and power boiler markets. Also, these certifications will open up an opportunity for OPCO to diversify its business depending on how the future market will develop.
The certifications are important statement that OPCO’s technical ability and its quality system are world class, and vessel to ascertain the clients’ trust for OPCO’s product quality.
