OPCO holds a Steel Cutting Ceremony for Jaya 12.9K Deck Cargo Carrier

On August 12, 2010, Oriental Precision & Engineering (“OPCO” hereinafter) performed a steel cutting ceremony for Jaya 12.9K Deck Cargo Carrier at the Dailian Oriental Marine & Heavy Industry (“OMI” hereinafter) facility. The order for the deck cargo carrier was placed by an Indonesian maritime transportation company Jaya Samudra Karunia Shipping (“JSK” hereinafter) last June.

About a hundred attendants present at the ceremony included the vice president of OPCO, the vice chairman of Oriental Heavy Industries, the to-be ship owner of JSK Korea, and the representatives and employees from OMI. A congratulatory speech and a traditional prayer service were given, followed by the actual steel cutting ceremony and a photo session.

With the ceremony, the project to build the 12.9DWT-class coal transport at OMI was titled JSK-D1006-COC; and at the same time the project JSK-D1007-COC for building a sister transport will proceed, to be delivered by the end of 2011.

A subsidiary of OPCO, the OMI specializes in building special purpose barges, offshore structures, upper deck structures, and ship blocks in its 65-acre shipbuilding facility in the city of Dailian in Liaoning Province, China. OPCO owns 80 percent of OMI’s capital.
