OPCO declares to go “green.”

Oriental Precision & Engineering (“OPCO” hereinafter) has declared to adopt “the green management.” On July 23, 2010, Mr. Suh, OPCO’s corporate executive officer, about forty company officers and employees, and ten green management consultants dispatched from Industrial Bank of Korea (“IBK”) gathered in OPCO headquarters conference room to declare the company’s employment of the green management throughout the company’s operations.

The assembly has displayed OPCO’s determination to act in accordance with the government’s “low-carbon, green growth” policy, as the statute associated with the policy was passed in Korea last April.

With the help from IBK eco-management experts, OPCO has established strategies and completed all preparation for green transition—for example, OPCO has set up a management system to monitor the company’s greenhouse gas emission; and the system to monitor and find ways to reduce energy use.

To make the transition go smooth, OPCO will set up a greenhouse gas emission statistics system; convert its manufacturing facilities to be “green” compliant; and employ the low-carbon movement in everyday operation, such as creating a paper-less office.

As the environment awareness increases internationally, and because OPCO believes that being environmentally friendly translates to gaining competitive edge in the future, OPCO will take an initiating role to embrace environment-friendly operation, and contribute to environment conservancy.
