OPCO launches the H804 Heavy Cargo Carrier

The H804 Heavy Cargo Carrier was successfully launched on June 9, 2010, from the Gwang-yang Facility.

The first ship block of H804 was manufactured in November 2009, and the bow and the stern were subsequently assembled around the center block. On May 11, 2010, the last block of the 95 total ship blocks was fitted to complete a 164-yard long heavy cargo carrier.

At the launch, the vice president and ten executives and employees from Dongbang, the vessel owner, were present. OPCO’s president Jinsup Kim and about a hundred employees and executives were also at the scene to witness the launch. H804 was lifted by three crane vessels to launch.

The deckhouse was installed the following day on Dongbang’s newly delivered ship, code named DBNG-H804-HCC, and a month-long outfitting will be followed by the test runs.
